Bad things happen

During the 2020 Plague, many of us began to ask “why do bad things happen?” Is this some sort of punishment, is this a lesson for us to learn from, where is God and does He care?

But these questions come from a preconceived notion of divinity and morality, and “Why do bad things happen?” is an unfair question to ask. Citing various Isma’ili scholars, I sought to dismantle this mentality and provide a more optimistic action-based approach.

After my presentation, alWaez Azam Samanani (who was in attendance) created his own video to help the global Jamat cope with the uncertainties of the 2020s. I helped conceptualize and write the script, and I did the final edit of the video below.
